PHASE – I
ENTRY STANDARDS
Educational Criteria
1. Should have passed 10th or 12th standard exam from a recognized board with
min. 40% aggregate marks.
2. Should have secured a min. of 40% marks in English at 10th or 12th exam
from a recognized Board / University.
A Degree or Diploma or Certificate in any one of the following discipline :-
· Hospitality and Hotel Administration
· Hotel Management & Catering Technology
· Catering
· Culinary Arts
· Hospitality and Tourism
Of Min. 6 Months duration from an institution recognized by state board / UGC
approved board / approved by National Council for Hotel Management &
Catering Technology (NCHMCS) / AICTE.
Age: 18 – 25 years.
Medical Examination:
Must be found medically fit by Directorate General of Shipping (DGS)
approved Doctors.
Eye Sight:
1. Shall be neither “colour blind” nor “night blind“.
2. Catering Department (including Bhandaries and Utility Hands)
Distance Vision (Unaided): 0.33 (Values given in Snellen Decimal
Notation) (6/18) in each eye; or 0.5 (Values given in Snellen Decimal
Notation) (6/12) in better eye and 0.25 (Values given in Snellen Decimal
Notation) (6/24) in other eye. Normal colour vision (To be tested by
Ishiara test chart)
INSTRUCTION FOR FILLING ONLINE APPLICATION
1. Candidate shall submit the application form online only.
2. Application processing fee of Rs.100/- to be paid:
Through any bank by NEFT (National Electronic Fund Transfer) facility. The
following details are furnished for sending the fees through NEFT mode.

After making payment through NEFT mode, the banker will give you a Unique
Transaction Reference called UTR Number. This UTR Number must be
furnished by the candidate in the online application form.
PHASE II
SUBMISSION OF ANNEXURE
An Annexure of the application is to be filled and submitted online by the
candidate. The candidate must take a print out from their login mode, Sign and
send the same to the Institute directly along with copies of the required
documents.
Annexure can be submitted after the publication of results of diploma / degree /
certificate course examination and award of marks.
DULY ATTESTED COPY OF THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS ARE
TO BE ENCLOSED ALONG WITH THE ANNEXURE
1. 10th & 12th Mark Statement
2. Consolidated Mark Sheet
3. Provisional Certificate of Degree / Diploma / Certificate or Consolidated
Mark Sheet
4. Conduct certificate issued by the institute where you last studied
5. Transfer Certificate issued by the institute where you last studied
6. Birth Certificate issued by any Government authorities
PROVISIONAL ADMISSION
1. Institute receives the Annexure which furnishes Senior Secondary / +2 /
Diploma / Degree / Certificate course marks along with copy of mark sheet.
2. Candidate will be provisionally selected based on his academic performance
indicated by the Senior Secondary / +2 / Diploma / Degree / Certificate
course marks. Selected candidate will be issued with a Provisional
Admission Letter along with Prospectus.
3. Candidate who has submitted the mark sheet and Provisional Certificate of
the degree / diploma along with Annexure can get the status of the admission
through “Know Your Status” page.
4. Candidate shortlisted for admission will be intimated through email. He can
view and take a print out of the provisional admission letter from “Know
Your Status” page.
5. Soft copy of the provisional admission letter will be sent to the candidate’s
Email ID.
Note: The date mentioned in the provisional admission letter is treated as the
date of intimation.
PHASE III
MEDICAL EXAMINATION
1. Provisionally selected candidate must undergo medical examination.
2. Directorate General of Shipping approved doctors will conduct medical
Examination and eye test at selected centers. Candidate can choose any of
the doctors listed.
3. Pay Rs.2,500/- directly to the Doctor towards medical examination charges.
4. The Doctor will inform the candidate as well as the Institute about his
medical fitness.
5. If found fit, the Doctor will hand over the hard copies of the medical report
to the candidate in a sealed envelope.
6. Candidate must submit the sealed envelope to the Institute positively at the
time of admission.
PAYMENT OF FEES
1. To confirm admission, the candidate has to pay the full fees within the time
specified in the provisional admission letter.
2. If the candidate fails to pay the full total fees within the due date specified,
he will lose his priority for the admission.
3. Full fees’ is to be paid:

SECOND EYE TEST
1. Candidate, confirmed for admission, will have to undergo a second eye test
at Madurai by the Institute’s Ophthalmologist before the start of the course.
In case the candidate’s eye sight is proved defective in the Second Eye test,
his admission will stand cancelled and the fees paid will be refunded after
deducting the applicable administrative charges as per the refund rules of the
Institute.
2. This second eye test is conducted at Madurai to safeguard the interest of the
students and to ensure 100% compliance with the required norms. This will
also avoid any problem to the candidate at a later date.
CONFIRMATION OF ADMISSION
Final Admission is subject to the following:
1. Payment of full fees.
2. Confirmation of eye sight by the Institute’s Ophthalmologist at Madurai
(Second Eye Test).
3. Verification of original documents / Medical report
4. The decision of the Institute will be final and binding on the candidates.
