On 14 June 2026, RL Institute of Nautical Sciences (RLINS), Madurai, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its Full Mission Engine Room Simulator (ME Engine Model) by Capt. Aditya Ramaswamy, General Manager, NjordShips Management India Pvt. Ltd., Chennai.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Mr. Balan Muthuramalingam, Principal of RLINS, along with faculty members, staff, and students.

As part of their practical maritime training, cadets from R.L. Institute of Nautical Sciences, Madurai undertook a port visit to Tuticorin in November 2025. The visit provided the cadets with valuable exposure to real-time port operations, cargo handling procedures and various maritime activities carried out at the port.

During the visit, the cadets observed different port facilities and gained insights into the functioning of ships, logistics operations and safety practices followed in the maritime industry.
