ETO (February 2026 – June 2026) Batch Successfully Passed Out at RLINS
The cadets of the Electro Technical Officer (ETO) Programme (February 2026 – June 2026 Batch) successfully completed their training and proudly passed out from R.L. Institute of Nautical Sciences (RLINS), Madurai, on 10th June 2026.
The Management, Principal, Faculty, and Staff of R.L. Institute of Nautical Sciences (RLINS) extend their heartfelt congratulations to all the successful cadets and wish them a bright future, fair winds, and every success in their professional endeavors at sea.
Congratulations to the ETO Batch (February 2026 – June 2026) on this remarkable achievement!
A delegation from Sanmar Shipping visited R.L. Institute of Nautical Sciences (RLINS), Madurai on 9 June 2026 as part of an industry interaction programme aimed at strengthening the connection between maritime education and the shipping industry.
During the visit, the delegates interacted with cadets from various maritime courses and shared valuable insights into the current trends, challenges, and opportunities within the global shipping sector. The session focused on career prospects at sea, professional development, industry expectations, and the skills required to succeed in the maritime profession.
RLINS extends its sincere gratitude to the Sanmar Shipping delegation for their visit and for sharing their expertise with the cadets. Such industry interactions play a vital role in preparing future maritime professionals and enhancing their understanding of real-world maritime operations.
Cadets of GME, ETO and GP Rating courses from R.L. Institute of Nautical Sciences participated in an educational port and ship visit to Tuticorin during May 2026 as part of their practical maritime training programme.
During the visit, the cadets had the opportunity to board and observe a brand-new vessel, where they gained valuable exposure to various onboard machineries, shipboard systems and operational procedures followed in the maritime industry. The cadets closely observed the engine room setup, auxiliary machineries, electrical and automation systems, cargo-related operations, safety equipment and maintenance practices carried out onboard.
The visit also provided first-hand experience of live port operations, cargo handling activities, logistics coordination and port safety procedures at one of the major ports in South India. Faculty members and onboard technical personnel explained the functioning of critical shipboard equipment and operational practices, helping the cadets understand the practical application of their academic subjects.
This practical exposure enabled the cadets to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-time maritime operations, thereby enhancing their technical knowledge, operational understanding and professional confidence. Such industrial and onboard training visits play a significant role in preparing future marine engineers, electro-technical officers and seafarers for successful careers in the shipping and maritime industry.
R.L. Institute of Nautical Sciences, Madurai, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MARINETECH Ship Managers & Surveyors on February 16, 2026.
This MoU covers all three major maritime programs
The collaboration enhances opportunities for cadet sponsorship, onboard training, and placement support.
Through this partnership, eligible cadets can access Marinetech sponsorship, along with valuable industry exposure and career guidance.
With increasing demand in the merchant navy sector, sponsorship plays a crucial role in building a successful career at sea. This initiative ensures RLINS cadets benefit from direct industry linkage, strengthening their prospects for onboard deployment and placement.
